Here are a few photos from Wednesday April 22 at Arlington High. I was asked to come and speak with the students about photography and share my information on the business. I was so happy to attended and see how excited a few students were about this wonderful career.

During my visit I asked the students to take an interesting photo (that caught their eye).

I only received two.

The one of me talking with my hands (of course) and you can see one student. I thought this was a great photo. It really showed my character. The only thing is I wish you could have seen everyone in the photo. Who ever took this GREAT job and next time don't be afraid to climb up on a chair and get that perfect shot.

The next photo was the sign that said "RESPECT". I thought this was really neat. I would have never notice it in the classroom. You saw something that was over looked and gave it attention. Just next time be careful of shadows. GREAT JOB!!!

I really enjoyed my time at your school. THANK YOU so much for having me. And please keep in touch.

Hello everyone and Happy New Year again. Hope everyone is getting a jump on the new year. I know things with me have been crazy busy. We were snow in for a few weeks here during the holidays and weren't able to do much but now the snow is gone. So it's back to WORK. I've been meeting with a lot bride's during the past week and just want to report June is almost filled up. We only have one date still open. Just finish meeting with Marika (Ms. Kim) and Douglas today. They reserved their wedding for August 29, 2009. So that date is no longer available by me however, the associates still have it open at this time.
They are such a sweet couple and I'm really looking forward to their wedding.

Here is a video I hope you find helpful. It's with one of my latest bride's Ashely and her mother Leeann. They planned one of the most beautiful weddings I've seen. From the dress to the table settings, it was beautiful. They put a lot of thought into this special event. I was so impressed with all the little details.

Planning a wedding is so much work. And you never really understand that in till your going through it. Most bride's I talk to are stressing half the time because things aren't going their way. I know times get hard. I also planned my own wedding. But at the end it all comes together. Everything just falls into place.

This bride really went through it all. She reserve a place that was beautiful but was kept up poorly. Had already put a lot of money down and decided to lose that money and start over.

At the end it all worked out. And now she can look back and be grateful.

To all brides out there-
Here is a little advice to help your photographer or anyone helping put together your wedding. Write a TIME LINE! I always ask my brides to give me a estimate of when things are going to start, hair/makeup appts, what time do they need to be out of the hall, who's taking care of what, etc..

The last thing I hate doing is asking you questions while your trying to get ready. Everything goes together great if I have an idea. Now of course no wedding as ever really been on time and that's okay. It's just a estimate.

I find when bride's give everyone a time line then things move smoother. Everyone is where they need to be and at the right time and no questions.

Just wanted to give an update on our business status. We were moving full time to California in January but have decided to stay a few extra months in Seattle. Our moving date is still unknown at the time. So if you have called before or thinking about calling, please Do! We would love to hear from you. We we only be reserving weddings on selected dates. Gladiolus

Botanical name : Gladiolus

Meaning : Splendid Beauty

The name "Gladiolus" is derived from the Latin word "gladius", meaning "sword", for the shape of its leaves. An ancient name for the gladiolus was "xiphium," from the Greek word "xiphos", also meaning sword.

The gladiolus flower is the birth flower for August; it also represented the Roman gladiators. Before the African gladioli became popular in the West, the Mediterranean and British gladiolus flowers were used to treat physical ailments. The English used the gladiolus flower's stem base (corms) as a poultice and for drawing out thorns and splinters; powdered corms mixed with goat's milk was commonly used to soothe the symptoms of colic.

Larkspur , Delphinium

Botanical name : Delphinium Ajacis

Meaning : Passionate Ardent Attachment

The larkspur of Delphinium is named for the shape of their flowers. The flower resembles the bottle - like nose of a dolphin.

The spur, on the other hand, reminded some people of parts of the lark; hence "larkspur," "lark's heel," and "lark's claw."

According to Greek legend, Achill0es' mother requested that her son's armor be given to the most heroic Greek warrior during the Battle of troy. To the dismay of the brave warrior Ajax, the armor was awarded to Ulysses. Dejected, Ajax threw himself on his sword, and small blue delphiniums of Larkspurs sprung from the blood that fell to the ground. Delphinium petals are marked with the Greek letters Al, the Greek cry of mourning.

Delphiniums, (larkspurs) signify an open heart and ardent attachment; Larkspurs generally symbolize lightness and swiftness.

Yesterday, I photograph a wedding in Tacoma. And let me tell you I never saw anything like it. It was really FUN! With a nice touch of soft purple and pure white. From the colors to the dancing and location, this was a beautiful day. With a romantic settings and great support from family and friends.

This wedding really touch my heart. Moe and Nora have both been through a few hard times in their life and yet their still loving and friendly people. During the ceremony, they were both filled with tears of joy. Even for me just meeting them a few months ago, I was in tears. Nora's son said it "was the happiest day of his little life". I know "how cute."

After reviewing a few photos this morning I couldn't be more pleased. Their stunning! Just take a look here at this one.

One of our photos was shown in a local newspaper in England. It was with our couple Alison and Peter and tells their sweet love and romantic story. How they met up again after 40 years. And tells how they took different roads but still landed in each other arms.
Their story is romantic and one that'll make your eyes tear.

Senior Photos

Here is a picture of a client posing for his senior photos. Senior photos are still a great shoot to do on the side. I only do 7 senior sessions a year because of my calender. I never seem to have another room for side jobs. However when I do, I love it. Graduation is such a big step in someones life. And photos are very important in capturing this moment in time.
This young man comes from a great family, when a very loving mother and father. I wish him well.

Pink Wedding Dress

I photographed a wedding this past weekend and the bride had a pink wedding dress! It was beautiful. She looked great.

They have already been married for about a year. They were married in Vegas with just a few friends and now they wanted to renew their vows and celebrate their marriage with family and friends. Now she had a white dress in Vegas and now decided to go with pink. I'm so glad she did, it was stunning.

He just got back from Iraq last month and they were so happy to see each other.

It was a beautiful day. They are a wonderful couple. And her dress with his uniform was stunning. It went so nicely together just like their love.

I'm so happy and pleased to have photograph their special day.

I know it seems like I just got back from California but I'm on my way back this Friday. I have another wedding on Saturday the 24th in Perris, CA. Here is the new Peter & Alison Lindop as they meet with me and receive /review their wedding photos. This is the couple that came over from England and got married in Palm Desert, at the Classic Club Golf Resort. As you'll see in the videos they where more then happy with the final product. I was so pleased as well with the photos. I rate every job I do, and this one scored very high.
It was all together by far my best wedding to date. Since it was just the two of them I really got to spend extra time with them. And I feel like I made friends as well. They were lots of FUN. And they had there two friends Karen and Susan who both where just a pure joy. And they made my job so much more easier because they where so nice and welcoming. I just can't say anymore about this couple, it was close to perfect.

Their wedding was beautiful, close, private and speechless.

Lilly of the Valley

Botanical name : Convallaria Majalis

Meaning : Humbleness, Humility

The Lily of the valley signifies the return of happiness. Legend tells of the affection of a lily of the valley for a nightingale that did not come back to the woods until the flower bloomed in May.

In Christian symbolism the lily represents purity, chastity, and innocence. White lily bouquets are especially popular in Christian Homes during the Easter holiday, for they symbolize Christ's resurrection.

Legend tells that the lily sprang from Eve's tears, when upon being expelled from Eden she learned she was pregnant.

Other folklore tells of lilies, unplanted by any human hand spontaneously appearing on the graves of people executed for crimes they did not commit. Some believe that planting lilies In a garden will protect the garden from ghosts and evil spirits. On the whole, lilies imply purity of the heart. Perennial Sweet Pea flowers in the summer and has large flowers of red, white, pink, purple, blue, and yellow. The flowers of the Perennial Sweet Pea are not fragrant; however, the annual Sweet Pea (Lathyrus Odoratus) in fragrant. The meaning of Sweet Pea is blissful pleasure.

The sweet pea is popularly known as the "Queen of Annuals".

Today was so fun, it was the shoot for March's raffle winner. The shoot was at David's Bridal for a dress fitting shoot. Nora had her two best friends there and they were just having fun and being silly. Nora's dress is so cute, it fits her perfectly. She's a sweet heart! I just love the bridal raffles, their so fun. I love spending the extra time with my brides.

I'm so excited! I just finish reserving a couple coming over from the UK. There getting married in Palm Springs, CA next month. I'm so excited because I get to go back to CA earlier then I thought. The daffodil, also known as the jonquil of narcissus, is believed to have been brought to Britain by the Romans, who mistakenly believed that its sap could heal wounds. (In fact, daffodil sap contains sharp crystals that prevent animals from eating the flower. While it did little to heal the Romans' wounds, it succeeded in further irritating their skin).

Today, people associate the bright, yellow daffodil as a symbol of rebirth - a sign of the new beginnings that come with spring. Indeed, the daffodil is the birthday flower for March, the month in which the spring equinox begins. Daffodils are said to bring good fortune to the person who avoids trampling on them. Lest they bring unhappy vanity to the bride, daffodils should never be present at a wedding.

While daffodils can be taken to say, "my fond hopes have been dashed by your behavior," they mostly say, "the sun is always shining when I'm with you. " For the most part, daffodils signify unrequited love.

I have been so busy the past few weeks with editing photos and putting up more adverisitng. I'm trying hard to keep this page updated. Keith & Patricia's Engagement Peak!

Today was so fun!
I photographed Keith & Patricia for their engagement session and let me tell you, it was so cold, we felt like we were freezing. I couldn't even feel my hands after 15 minutes outside, however it didn't effect their photos at all.
They look great! This one is my favorite.
You really can't meet a sweeter couple then these two.
They are so cute together and I'm really looking forward to photographing their wedding.
It's a blessing that they have let me document this moment in their lives.

When looking for a wedding photographer here are 3 things that you should include in your package:

1. A non time base (Don't worry about time and enjoy your day)
2. Unlimited photos taken (Be spoiled in front of the camera)
3. All photos on a CD (Save them forever)

No matter what your photographer charges, if you like him/her pay it! Photos and video are the most important things at your wedding. You'll spend months planning a great party and it'll go by so fast. The food will be eaten, the guests will go home, the flowers will die however, your pictures will last a life time. They'll be the only visible thing you can show for your special day.
